Invitation to “life-giving and uplifting” celebrations

Catholic Education – Diocese of Rockhampton has released a video message, inviting the State’s Catholic education community to take part in celebrating 2025 Catholic Education Week, which will be officially launched in Queensland on Wednesday 30 July.

The video features messages from Diocese of Rockhampton Bishop Michael McCarthy, Queensland Catholic Education Commission Executive Director Allan Blagaich, Catholic School Parents Queensland Executive Director Carmel Nash OAM, Catholic Education – Diocese of Rockhampton Diocesan Director Michael McCusker, and students.

“I’m very pleased and excited that, this year, the state-wide launch of Catholic Education Week will be held here, in the great city of Rockhampton,” Mr McCusker said in his address.

Mr McCusker also extended “a warm welcome to all those who will be visiting and taking part in the celebrations”, which he hoped would be “life-giving and uplifting” for all involved.

Queensland Catholic school students, staff and families are invited to participate in the State Launch, either by attending the Mass at St Joseph’s Cathedral in Rockhampton or by watching the livestream online.
